1. Who we are

Streakwell is operated by Preston Smith, who acts as the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@streakwell.live.

2. What we collect and why

  • Account data — email address, display name, chosen username, and login credentials (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider). Used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Habit data — the habits you create and the days you mark complete. Used to calculate streaks, analytics and leaderboards. Legal basis: contract.
  • Social data — friend requests, friendships, and your streak visibility setting (private, friends, or public). Used to show your progress only to the people you have chosen. Legal basis: contract.
  • Billing records — subscription status, plan, renewal dates and a log of billing events. Card details are never seen or stored by us; Paddle handles payment data. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs. Used for security, fraud prevention and fixing bugs. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages — anything you send us. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

3. Who we share it with

  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for the sale of subscriptions, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
  • Service providers — hosting, database and email delivery providers acting as our processors under contract.
  • Other users — only the streak information you have chosen to expose through your visibility setting, to the friends you have accepted (or publicly, if you set your profile to public).
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Retention

We keep account, habit and social data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise that data within 30 days, except billing records that we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (typically 7 years).

5. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level access controls in the database so users can only read their own data, and least-privilege access to production systems.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage only — to keep you signed in and to make the checkout work. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear these through your browser at any time, though you will be signed out.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@streakwell.live and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

9. Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change and will post the new version here with a revised date.
